Brow Lift

Brow Lift

A brow lift is not often a first thought for people considering facial rejuvenation. It is a great tool however, especially for improving tired-looking eyes and patients with a lot of forehead wrinkles. In some patients who are considering eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), they may not actually have a problem with their eyelids but rather their brow which may have dropped. As a consequence they are often raising their eyebrows to ‘open their eyes’ wide, this also leads to more forehead wrinkles. The position of the eyebrows should always be checked before proceeding with blepharoplasty. If they are low then a brow lift may be preferable. This procedure may be done through several techniques and incisions. This may vary depending on the severity of the brow droop (ptosis) and the patients hair line. Sometimes the brow incision will follow the hair line, a jagged incision helps to disguise the scar. Botox may be another useful tool in helping with forehead wrinkles.
