A neck lift is often done as part of a facelift as it often requires an incision around the ear to tighten the neck skin. A second incision under the chin is often used to allow for de-fatting of the central neck area. Sometimes de-fatting can be done with the use of a small liposuction tool, or directly by removing fat through an incision. Botox can be used in addition to minimize the ‘bands’ of the neck which are evident in some people while talking. These are more common in thin necks.
