While we are still dealing with heightened infection control policies as a licensed Independent Surgical Facility, we appreciate your cooperation in helping us keep everyone safe and healthy.

We still require everyone to wear a mask and please inform us if you are ill prior to your appointment as we are happy to reschedule you to minimize cancellations.

Thank you from the staff at Sudbury Plastic Surgery
“I have a strong interest in reconstructive and cosmetic Plastic Surgery. As a woman, and a mother, I feel a strong connection to many patient’s concerns about body image and function and I do my best to really listen to what those concerns are.”

Dr. Amanda Fortin, Plastic Surgeon

~ a feminine approach to plastic surgery…

In 2011 Dr. Amanda Fortin returned to Northern Ontario to open her practice in Sudbury. While she has roots in Northern Ontario she has done extensive training across Canada and abroad. Her training in medical school was in Calgary Alberta, she became certified in Plastic Surgery at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg and then went on to do specialty training in Texas and in Melbourne Australia.

She began her career as a surgeon and instructor of plastic surgery trainees at the University of Western Ontario in 2007 in London Ontario but decided to return to her roots in the north when she began her family. She has worked out of Health Sciences North since moving to Sudbury.  In 2018 her main practice location has moved to 1493 Paris St. This is an easily accessible location for both consultation and an approved surgical centre.

Please be aware of the testing requirements that apply for all patients undergoing surgery at Sudbury Plastic Surgery.  You will be required to have a COVID-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test prior to your surgery.  These tests can be booked through your Public Health Unit, or through a private facility that offers the testing.  Given the everchanging guidelines and the ongoing pandemic, eligibility for the PCR is limited and the local Public Health Unit may not be able to offer you the test based on the present demand for these tests.  You may need to have it done at a private facility and consequently incur a cost for that.

The PCR test results are required in order for the surgical team to proceed with your procedure.
